It’s good to step out of our comfort zone sometimes and this was my first time doing pork ribs. I considered slathering them in a BBQ sauce but the sugar and calorie count disagreed.
Ingredients
- 700g Pork Ribs
- 3tbsp Garlic Granules
- 2tbsp Paprika
- A Lot Of Cracked Black Pepper
- 3 Pinches Salt (I Used Maldon Smoked Sea Salt Flakes)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160c fan, 170c conventional, 320f
- Place the ribs into a tray (metal is better if you have a big enough one) and dab them dry of excess moisture. Sometimes they have a membrane underneath, if so remove this
- Add garlic granules, paprika, cracked black pepper and good quality salt and rub in well
- Cover with foil and place into the oven
- Remove from oven after 90 minutes
- Remove foil and return to oven for a final 10 minutes
Eating And Storage Tips
I mentioned it in the introduction but I would certainly consider doing these with some BBQ sauce or maybe even a honey mixture if you want extra flavour and can handle the extra calories. I decided instead just to dunk them in BBQ sauce afterwards.
These would absolutely do better on a grill or an actual BBQ but if like me you’re in the winter in the UK, in a top floor flat at that, and you don’t really have that option going for you then this works well as an alternative.
I would always suggest cooking them whole and then dividing them into portions afterwards otherwise the cooking time will end up a little more out of whack.
Cooking them for just yourself or close family? Save the bones afterwards to make into a broth or stock!
