I love cheese. I love camembert. The mild nutty flavours and the versatility for what you can do with it or put it with gives me happy wiggles.
Frequently I will do what I did right here and sliced up some garlic cloves and stick them in and popped some herbs on top. If I had fresh rosemary that would have gone in too.
Then I baked it at 200c for around 25 minutes before serving it up with some salad and bread (in this case garlic bread that I popped onto the tray the camembert pot was resting on halfway through cooking).

But I was inspired to do this because I live extremely close to a thrift store that has a couple of sites and this one sells mainly furniture but has a whole wall of kitchen things too. I take the time to look inside. The other week I grabbed a tea trolley to put in my kitchen with my plates and pans on to save limited cupboard space. Another time a couple of chairs. And most recently, a Pyrex dish (£1), a shelf unit that needed repainting (£5) and a camembert cheese pot (£1).

It isn’t anything ‘fancy’ but I think it looks super cute in white with Tasty Creamy Gooey Cheese in various fonts going around the edge. And also, my multipurpose brain, I could use it as a mini casserole dish or take the lid off and use it for a pot pie making it even more of a versatile £1 bargain!
If you happen to be in the Featherstone/Castleford, West Yorkshire area be sure to stop by Revalued CiC for knick knacks or browse their Facebook page for regularly uploaded images of their furniture.
Have you found any kitchen based bargains in thrift stores recently? I also got a small, one to two person, slow cooker unused in a box for £8 recently; If you know where to look you can get the most delightful things at fantastic prices.
