My 2026 Goals

Another year is here and wow 2025 was a wild ride and I’m certainly hoping 2026 is the better kind of wild ride.

In some ways I’m pleased it’s over. I spent January to August without a job, scrapping by and just praying somebody would give me a chance. My health was recovering, both mentally, emotionally and physically, from an extended stay in North Carolina.

In 2025 I got that job, I kept the same flat, I paid off some debts and decreased others by a chunk, I stayed in a relationship, I rebuilt connections with family and strengthened connections with some friends and I figured out a lot about myself too.

There’s a lot of things I’m hoping to achieve in 2026. Some very specific and some a little more general and fluid where it’s just something to be working towards over the course of the year. So if you’re interested here’s a few things I’m aiming for:

My Personal Goals

  • Continuing losing weight. I’ve lost over a stone (15lbs/6kg) since July 2025 and want to continue with this. I don’t so much have a set weight in mind as I’m aware that numbers can look different on each body. I’m more going for feeling comfortable in my own skin and fitting into a dress size pretty comfortably in a variety of stores/brands.
  • Going on more walks and exploring my local area or re-exploring places I’ve gone in my youth. From walking days to restaurants to art and historical sites I just want to explore more and more.
  • Read more! I want to read so much more. I always go through ebbs and flows with reading but I want to make it a habit and routine, even if it’s just 5-10 pages a day. Reading makes me happy. I should do it.
  • Paying off more, if not all, of my existing debt. Before Covid I had great plans to build my credit score and instead it ended up doing the opposite. With careful spending and decision making over the next year I can make a pretty solid dent into the amounts I still have to deal with.

My Content Goals

  • Creating a wider range of content and bringing myself into my content more; Showing myself in videos, bringing more personality and going back to doing more about me posts here and my other socials as well. It’s not about wanting to abandon the food content but find complimentary content to enhance it whilst having fun.
  • Perhaps posting less regularly, maybe three or four shorts a week, a couple of photos, being consistent on stories and threads, some longer form videos and then blog posts instead of the same type of content in the same place every day. I want all of my pieces of content to be done better and for me to be able to put more time into them.
  • Continuing to not care too much about numbers but to continue to just enjoy what I’m doing and providing informative, useful and maybe fun content to people that do happen to stop by. I’ve cared about numbers and had them in the past but that just brought pressure. If numbers ever return to me on any of my platforms I’ll be happy but I’ll continue to focus on having my groove and just creating my best content.

My Professional Goals

  • Working more towards a promotion. Since I started my job in August 2025 I’ve had the chance to coach new starters, floor walk and contribute to discussions of new staff portals on the campaign I work in for my company. I feel I’m in a great place to continue building on my skills and to put myself in a position for opportunities that may arise over 2026.
  • Continuing to improve my professional skillset and attitude to not only enhance my current role and potential roles in my organisation but to consider what I may have to do to take on other roles if those opportunities do not arise.

Other Hopes And Dreams

  • Start saving more. I have started working on this already but I want to keep improving this for longer term goals. My partner is looking to have his dual citizenship this year and potentially move to the UK in 2027 and if that happens I want to be in a place for us to move to a bigger rental whilst we save for a mortgage.
  • Booking and starting driving lessons before the end of 2026. I’m not sure when exactly I want to do this. It links partly to savings as I want to be able to comfortably book however much I need, get the tests done and realistically be able to get myself insurance and a small starter car. So getting on with lessons in 2026 to perhaps achieve the rest of this in 2027 seems achievable.

I would absolutely love to hear what your 2026, and perhaps beyond, goals are?
