A Disappointing Yakitori Chicken

Ingredients

  • Cooked Chicken Breast, Chopped
  • Broccoli Florets
  • Yakitori Paste
  • Water
  • Instant Noodles

Method

  1. Coat the cooked chicken and broccoli in the yakitori paste in a bowl. Adding a splash of water will help to loosen the paste to make it actually coat everything. Leave it for about ten minutes in the fridge
  2. Place it into a heated frying pan and get it all heated up. As it heats up the paste will become slightly more fluid
  3. Meanwhile cook the instant noodles per packet instructions and place into your dish
  4. When the chicken is well heated, but the broccoli still crunchy, serve on top of the noodles

Eating And Storage Tips

I’m not sure if I’ve ever eaten anything involving yakitori paste before so it’s a little hard for me to tell if I’m not the biggest of fan in general or if it’s just from how thick this Lidl one was that I used that made it hard to get its full flavour profile across the meal.

The paste I used didn’t actually mention putting any water in with it at all but I could hardly squeeze it from the packaging it came in so there’s absolutely no chance it would have coated anything without a dash of water. Try to follow your individual packet instructions though.

You can absolutely use raw chicken for this recipe too but if you are don’t pop your broccoli into the paste mixture and instead just the chicken and get that cooking by itself before adding the broccoli in later.

If you want to make your own yakitori paste or marinade I believe it’s a combination of light soy sauce simmered down with sugar before adding in some dark soy sauce and sake which certainly sounds looser with the additions at the end and it allows you to coat the chicken a lot easier.

I’d had some of this yakitori paste from Lidl sitting in my cupboard for months and it was time to use it with that roast chicken. – Coat the cooked chicken and broccoli in the paste in a bowl. Adding a splash of water too. Leave it for about ten minutes – Place it into a heated frying pan and get it all heated up and the paste more fluid – Meanwhile cook the instant noodles per packet instructions and place into your dish – When the chicken is well heated, but the broccoli still crunchy, serve on top of the noodles #food #cooking #cookingvideo #cookwithme #cookingwithme #simplerecipe #quickrecipe #quickfood #comfortfood #cookingathome #fypfood #foodiesoftiktok #homecook #homecooking #simplefood #foodiesofinstagram #mealswithme #recipesoftiktok #recipe #easyrecipe #dinner #dinnerideas #dinnertime #quickrecipes #chicken #noodles #leftovers
