Eating And Storage Tips
I could have 100% made this recipe a little better. I could have added in some broccoli for a start. I could have done the mushroom and carrot far smaller to make the sauce more of an incorporated dish or to even mix it through the rice instead. And I wish I had made that sauce far looser so that it spread across and smothered the dish better.
In honesty I would not recommend the Lidl katsu paste at all and instead to find a sauce or to make one fully from scratch instead. It sounded like a really good idea but the flavour was lacking a bit of depth and it had a bit of a grainy texture too even though it looked like a smooth paste.
I’d recommend breading up more than one piece of pork at once just because of how much, even a small egg, eggy mixture you will end up with and it seems a shame to waste it. In fact that’s exactly what I did and cooked it up before letting it cool to put it into the fridge for the following day.
