Ingredients:
- Instant noodles with chicken seasoning
- Cheese sauce (I used a leftover cottage cheese based one)
- Spring onions, chopped
Method:
- Cook the noodles in a small amount of water
- Heat up the cheese sauce
- When nearly cooked drain any excess water (you might not have any, this is fine too)
- Add in the cheese sauce and mix well
- Add the seasoning packet from the instant noodles
- Add in the spring onions and again mix well
- The noodles should have finished cooking now so it’s time to serve
- Optionally top with some fresh herbs
Eating And Storage Tips
Unless you like to eat cold noodles and rethickened cheese sauce, don’t make enough of this for leftovers.
If you want more flavour or a different flavour profile to what the seasoning packet would allow then, of course, add extra herbs and spices accordingly.
If you wanted to make a simple improvement without much effort. If you already have something like chicken stock then cook the noodles in that instead. As I type this I’m thinking about the chicken stock cubes in the freezer and how I could have done exactly that.
If you want to use your instant noodle seasoning but don’t have chicken ones then no fear. A lot of noodle seasoning packets will work okay here. The main would that I would be uncertain to say is a seafood type one but beef, pork or curry ones are good alternatives.
