I was really looking forward to this. Exploding Kittens is one of those card games that is way too over done in terms of the format of rules etc but I like the artwork and the silly little descriptions of them. I sort of hoped that there would be more of those card characters in the show but alas there was not; Maybe they intend to introduce them in season two.

Oh Gods. A season two? Please do not let there be a season two. It was such a huge disappointment on so many levels. It wasn’t particularly funny, the plot was basic and flawed at several points and it just felt so incredibly meh all around. There wasn’t really any character development, you were forced into feeling certain ways about all of the people involved and even the oh woah moments you could see from a mile away.

God cat banished from heaven for being too evil with the only way to return being to help a family unite, at the same time devil cat gets banished for being too nice, and oh look they have to battle each other and instead become friends and gain feelings. Could a plot line be any more uncreative? Apparently not. I suppose in that sense it is like the card game with its very basic format. I just wish it wasn’t because it could have been so much more and they could have really fleshed it out to be an amazing narrative with a lot more funny content.

It felt like somebody’s first attempt at putting together a script at college and the teacher just couldn’t be bothered to give them advice on how to improve it and instead let them go ahead and make it. I don’t really have a lot more to say other than do not waste your time. There are thousands of shows you could watch, time is finite, do not bother with this.
