
Ingredients (For Four)
- 1 Chicken breast, or equivalent, pre-cooked/from leftovers
- 4 Slices of bacon, pre-cooked/from leftovers: Not too crispy! (chopped)
- 2 Garlic Cloves (finely chopped)
- 1tbsp Oil/Fat of your preference
- 1 Cup BBQ sauce
- 2tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1tbsp Reduced-sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 Cup Chicken stock
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Place oil/fat into a skillet and allow to heat up. Add garlic cloves.
- Reduce heat down to a medium temperature and add in the BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and chicken stock and mix together well
- Allow the sauce to thicken up and become sticky, but not too much that it becomes a reduction. Add in the bacon, chicken and season to your preference, stirring to make sure it is fully coated. Continue to allow to simmer until the bacon and chicken is fully re-heated
- Serve with a carb of your preference
Eating And Storage Tips
Given this might involve you using meat that already has leftovers be sure to not keep it hanging around too many days, the next day is probably okay but more than that might be a push, if you do have any left.
Generally try to avoid reheating it yet again. It would work best with pasta if you are going to be wanting to have some of it cold.
Consider adding a little bit of cheese or crispy chicken skin to the top of the dish depending on what carb you select with it. Both can give that extra little bit of richness and flavor without taking away from the overall dish.
